LOCAL author Elizabeth Maslen, senior research fellow of the University of London, gave an enjoyable talk to an audience of 85 people in the Wharf Teatime Talks series recently.

The talk was on the Nobel Prize winning author Doris Lessing, who died in 2013 at the age of 94. Elizabeth outlined the events in Doris's life which informed her writing and illustrated this with quotations from her published works.

Elizabeth has a new and enlarged edition of her book on Doris Lessing, which is due to be published at the end of April and will be available at Bookstop in Tavistock.
