WHITCHURCH returned from Okehampton with their third victory of the season. Whitchurch won the toss and put Okehampton in to bat. Lavis soon in the wickets again, reducing the home to side to 23-3, his 10 overs rewarding him with 3-20.

Goodchild then led the Okehampton fightback with a valuable 37, first in partnership with Ewen and then with Alford (18). As Okehampton looked to be posting a reasonable total, Tamblin struck with 3-27.

Clift added a spirited 17 no, before Davies mopped up the innings with the last 2 wickets. Okehampton all out for 126.

Whitchurch got off to the worst possible start with Hodge out, first ball. A partnership of 109, dominated by Barriball (77), with Hall, swung the game Whitchurch's way.

However, after Hall was run out for 19, Whitchurch struggled against the fine bowling of Mellor (4-21), losing a further 5 wickets, before gaining victory.
