MID Devon Pony Club girls won both the senior and mini team events at the Spooners and West Dartmoor tetrathlon held at Tavistock over the weekend.
They were also brilliantly successful in the individual events, winning the juniors and minis and coming second in the seniors.
The riding course proved tricky and there were only seven clear rounds all day, four of them achieved by Mid Devon riders.
The senior team of Sarah and Laura Gomersall and Jess Trerise had a narrow victory over the home team. Sarah came second, just beaten by national star Heather Fell and Laura came fifth. Sarah achieved best run, while Laura had best shoot with a stunning 960 out of 1,000 points. Sarah also rode the only clear round in her class.
In the juniors, there was no Mid Devon team, but Rebecca Rowe kept the flag flying, winning the class with the best swim and a clear round ride.
In the minis, the team of Charlotte Rowe, Lydia Svensson, Ellen Bright and Jessica Mortimore won comfortably with Charlotte coming first individually, having best shoot, run and swim as well as riding clear. Lydia came fourth with the only other clear round in the class.
