SOUTH East Cornwall's prospective parliamentary candidates will be in the spotlight this Saturday (March 6) when they take part in a 'Question Time' event as part of Fairtrade Fortnight in Callington.

The event takes place at Callington Community College from 2.30pm to 4pm.

Participating will be Roger Creagh-Osborne (Green), Karen Gillard (Liberal Democrat), Stephanie McWilliam (UKIP), Sheryll Murray (Conservative), Michael Sparling (Labour) and a representative from Mebyon Kernow.

The main topic will be international development but there will also be an opportunity to ask questions closer to home.

The guest speaker will be Nicholas Adjei-Gyan, head of research and development of Kuapa Kokoo, the world's largest co-operative of Fairtrade cocoa producers, who will also be meeting Callington residents at the Co-op cafe from 11am to noon and tasting the supermarket's extensive range of Fairtrade products. All are welcome to these events.

For the children there will be an African art and craft workshop for those over five years old from 2pm to 4pm. Learn how to make door hangers and other useful items using traditional African symbols and patterns. The cost is £1 per child.
