POLICE are appealing for information about a burglary in Hoo Meavy early yesterday morning (Wednesday, February 19).

Thieves broke in to a house some time between 4am and 7am, while a family slept upstairs, and made off with £2,000 worth of silverware and antiques.

PC Nick Burnett, of Tavistock police, said initial investigations suggested the burglary was carried out by two men who gained entry through a door or window.

He warned home owners to be vigilant with security, as yesterday?s break-in follows a similar incident in Mary Tavy at the same time last week.

Anyone with information relating to yesterday?s burglary is asked to phone Tavistock CID.
