POLICE in Tavistock have issued a big thank you to residents who took part in a recent crime-fighting exercise. DC Becca Deane said she wanted to thank all the residents of Tavistock who completed and promptly returned a questionnaire, which was distributed to specific areas within the town as part of an investigation she was conducting into a series of burglaries in the past year. As a result of this investigation two warrants were executed in Plymouth earlier this month and two males were arrested. DC Deane said: 'This is a great example of team work. 'Tavistock officers have worked extremely hard in the investigation of these offences, our colleagues from the Tactical Aid Group in Bodmin and the Targeted Policing Team in Plymouth assisted us in executing the warrants. 'Local residents in providing the response to the questionnaire exceeded all expectations and information gathered has proved fruitful in the investigation.' The two males have been bailed pending further enquiries.
