POLICE in West Devon are trying to trace a man who may be able to assist them with enquiries into two recent incidents.

In one incident a man ran up a substantial bill at a bed and breakfast in Yelverton and then left without making any attempt to pay, even taking the keys with him. In the other incident, three charity boxes were stolen from a pub in the Lydford area.

The man officers are looking for is quite distinctive and he is believed to be walking, hitch-hiking or using public transport in the south west. He is described as being in his 70s, tall and with untidy very white hair. He has a strong Liverpool accent, wears walking boots and carries a brown bag.
