Police have acted to reassure parents following a recent incident in Yelverton.

The incident took place at around 2.40pm on Thursday, May 17 at the village's Play Park.

Officers received a report from a woman that two males had attempted to become involved in playing on the park equipment with young children.

Investigating officers stress however that there was no attempt to abduct a child and that the children were with their mothers at the time of the incident.

Following enquiries, the males have been identified as a child playing at the park accompanied by a care worker.

Officers are satisfied that no offences were committed and have no concerns regarding the incident. Police reference number 414 170512.
