DETECTIVES are warning against buying unique but cut-price cosmetics items which were stolen from a Yelverton hairdressers. The business, in The Parade, was targeted by two burglars in the early hours of Saturday, with the crooks forcing open a side door to gain entrance sometime between 2am and 4am. Once inside, the thieves stole an estimated £10,000 worth of Janssen cosmetics. Investigators have learned the items are currently on sale in just two locations in the UK — in Newquay and London. A police spokesman said: 'This is a small hairdresser store in a very small place and this kind of theft will have a significant impact on the business. 'This is a very rare offence to have taken place in the Yelverton area and we urge anyone who may have been in the area in the early hours and who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously to get in contact with us. 'In addition, if you are offered any items made by the Janssen brand, especially at a heavily discounted price, then we very much want to hear from you.' Police say they believe the crooks parked up a vehicle nearby and then walked to the business before breaking in and hauling away the large collection of cosmetics.
