FIREFIGHTERS from Callington were called to deal with a fire at the town's Tesco supermarket on Tavistock Road last Wednesday (September 3). On arrival, just after 6.50pm, crews stated there had been a fire in the toilet roll aisle. A member of staff had fortunately used two foam extinguishers on the fire, and firefighters used one hose-reel to fully extinguish the blaze. A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to ventilate the premise. The cause of the fire was believed to be arson. Devon and Cornwall Police were also on scene and carried out investigations.
