POLICE in Okehampton stepped up patrols in Simmons Park this weekend in a bid to combat anti-social behaviour. Officers will be using a mixture of plain clothes and uniformed patrols to tackle the problem and will also be helped by the dog section. Neighbourhood team leader Sgt Matt Longman said: The park is for the community to use and it is important that people feel safe and at ease whilst walking in it.? He added that the police would like to encourage people to report any behaviour they feel is inappropriate, including descriptions of those responsible.
