YOUR correspondent's report last week, 'Angry taxi firms warn of chaos', contained a couple of misunderstandings as under:

Firstly, the ward I represent is Walkham (covering Horrabridge, Sampford Spiney and Whitchurch — none of which has a taxi rank) and I live in Horrabridge so am not from Yelverton.

Secondly, I could not support the Council Tax Payer having to fund a survey at an approximate cost of £10-£15,000 and although not being in favour of an increased number of Hackney Carriage Licences being issued, I voted for deregulation as the lesser of two evils.
