THE Peterloo Poets 6th Annual International Poetry Festival ? which takes place at Calstock on September 3 and 4 ? has secured an impressive line up of guests for this prestigious event..
Poets who will be reading their work this yeare?s event are Fleur Adcock (New Zealand), Chris Considine (UK), Anne-Marie Fyfe (Northern Ireland), Stephen Knight (Wales), Sheenagh Pugh (Wales) and Peter Scupham (UK).
Fleur Adcock, who has lived in England since 1963, has published translations from Romanian and medieval Latin poetry and edited several anthologies.
Chris Considine who now lives in North Yorkshire has had poems printed in many leading UK poetry journals. Her first full volume Learning to Look was published by Peterloo Poets in 2003.
Born in Country Antrim, Northern Ireland, Anne-Marie Fyfe now lives in West London. A freelance teacher of literature and creative writing, she won the first prize in the 2004 Academi Cardiff International Poetry Competition this year. She has organised the Coffee-House Poetry Monday night reading series at the Troubadour in London?s Earl?s Court since 1997.
Stephen Knight won the 1992 National Poetry Competition and his novel, Mr Schnitzel, was the Arts Council of Wales Book of the Year in 2001.
Sheenagh Pugh has published some ten collections ? her latest was shortlisted for the Whitbread Prize.
Peter Scupham has broadcast, reviewed, and taught writing courses for the Arvon Foundation in Devon and Yorkshire. He has published nine collections of poetry with Oxford University Press.
The 6th Annual Poetry Fesdtival is held at the Old Chapel, Sand Lane, Calstock.
