A MEDICAL support charity which covers West Devon is holding a fundraising event at the Moorland Links Hotel near Yelverton on May 5.

PLIMS (Plymouth Immediate Medical Support) provides volunteer, trauma-trained doctors who, between them, are permanently on call when requested by ambulance control and able to be at the scene of a serious accident in minutes.

The charity, which covers an area stretching from Newton Abbot in the east to Liskeard in the west and Tavistock in the north, is dependent entirely on donations and fundraising. There will be a fashion show, afternoon tea, stalls and a raffle at the Moorland Links Hotel from 2.30pm on May 5.
