Tiverton U16s 0

Okehampton U16s 63

IN a game that started slowly, both teams were making a lot of unforced errors.

Okehampton opened the scoring with a catch and drive from a lineout, with the forwards piling and Andy Craddock applying the final touchdown.

Okehampton applied the pressure, but with even more unforced errors, worked hard to impose themselves in the game. Paddy Nash made a strong break through the middle, but was left isolated as no support followed up, and the ball was then lost in a turnover. However the tries steadily accumulated in the first half, with scores from Josh Bickley, Giles Heard, Will Cooper and Karl Pearce, with two conversions from Luke Simmons.

The second half saw an improvement in play, with a break through the centre by Jack Williams, who offloaded to Billy Searle to score.

But as in the first half Okehampton were still being out-rucked and out-scrummed by the Tiverton forwards. Okehampton scored further tries by Luke Liversidge, Zac Middleton, Mark Toms and George Baker, with Billy putting over three conversions.

Throughout the game the 14 men of Tiverton never gave up, but as the score reached 60 points, the game then turned into a friendly, with Tiverton scoring a well deserved try and conversion, just before the final whistle.

Next week's match is away to Sidmouth.
