VISITORS to the Museum of Dartmoor Life can expect an array of family fun over the Easter school holidays.
Children visiting the museum can enjoy an Easter egg hunt with a difference. Egg letter boxing is a fun event for children based on letterboxing. Families visiting the museum will be given a notebook in which to collect the stamps hidden around the museum in Easter eggs.
The museum is also introducing discovery zones around the displays. The contents will change during the year and include opportunities to dress up in Bronze Age costumes and identify the contents of explorers' boxes. Other family events will be held throughout the season.
Manager Andrew Thompson said: 'The new management team are really enthusiastic about establishing the museum as a friendly place for families with fun things to do.
'In these times of austerity when resources are limited, we want the museum to offer interesting and enjoyable events which are affordable for local people.
'We hope people visiting the museum who are income tax payers will support this valuable community resource by gift aiding their admission in return for free entry for the next year.
'Everyone providing evidence they live in the EX20 postcode is entitled to a season ticket giving unlimited entry for the rest of 2013 for the price of one admission.'
The museum is open Mondays to Fridays from 10.15am to 4.15pm and Saturdays from 10.15am to 1pm.
