I AM not generally given to writing to newspapers but I feel someone must.

How much longer are the residents of Canal Road, Tavistock, and people whose houses back onto Bedford Car Park, expected to tolerate the unwanted and intrusive activities that seem to abound here?

I have this morning been trying without success to enjoy a peaceful Sunday morning at home — no chance, there is a car show in the car park. Great, you might think, and for a worthy cause, Help For Heroes. But when activities like this are planned would good manners and a profesional approach not dictate that a visit to the affected housholds to apologise in advance and explain the event and its purpose might be in order?

It is bad enough I am unable to park near my house, or that I regularly have to confront the exhaust revving morons of cars and scooters several times a week that race around the car park.

This total lack of respect for residents by both event organisers and West Devon Council are not what I pay my rates for. Do I expect action or apologies? of course not, it would seem the only action we will get is the action the residents initiate themselves.
