I NOTE with interest the 'Tavistock Needs You' leaflet distributed with the Times last week.

I fear that too many people in this town wish to turn it into  a museum. The younger people firstly have their nightclub taken away never to be replaced, and now a new supermarket is being refused.

Unfortunately, people of  all ages live here. While I am in no way young, I feel that the town council and obviously some of its residents do not want change. Many people, myself included, have very busy lives and need the convenience of a supermarket, and if there is not an alternative to Morrisons a lot of people will continue to shop in Launceston, Roborough etc.

Don't try and mothball the place, it needs to be a good place to live for everyone not just the old and affluent who have the time and money to visit the town daily.
