REGARDS Meadowland swimming pool — I understand that the council is discussing the future of the pool this month. I spend at least three hours a week at the pool, swimming and aqua fit, the pool is always well attended and at least 30 attending the aqua fit. The council says it is losing money. If that is the case why are there no solar panels on the roof to cut back on heating cost. Why not put up monthly subs to help? I expect most of those using the subscription route would be willing to a small increase. I know I would be unable to use Kelly College even if arrangements were made for us to do so. Why? Well, I do not go out at night, I need for medical reasons to swim in warmer water than available to users of Kelly, the Kelly pool is unsuitable for aqua fit as it goes too deep, and there would be not be any facilities for my toddler great grandchildren. I, and many like me, would not go to the Life Centre in Plymouth as it is too big and too impersonal and is for serious fitness. Yvonne Fountain Boughthayes Tavistock I AM horrified at the prospect of the closure of Meadowlands. It is an ideal facility for we older and less nimble people, easily accessible traffic wise as well as being purpose built with the depth of the water being the same from end to end. It offers a safe and comforting environment for we less able that would not be available at Kelly College. Please consider the needs of everyone, not just potential Olympians.
