TEN Tavistock girls have been selected to represent Devon at both U15 and U18 level. Jo Abel, Alice Upcott, Katy Scorer, Rachael Watson, Florence Rodgers, Elsie Kirby and Cheryl Norman are part of the U18 squad and Kim Upcott, Bethany Hodgkiss and Lauren Dawe have joined the U15s.

Sunday saw the first fixtures with the Tamar Cup matches, played at North Tawton, against Cornwall. For the U18s Jo Abel was tight head prop, Katy Scorer second row and Rachael Watson open side winger. All three girls contributed great effort and skill, with Rachael scoring two tries, which helped the scoreline of Devon U18s 42 Cornwall U18s 0.

Bethany Hodgkiss was loose head prop and Kim Upcott reserve tight head prop in the U15 match. Both girls acquitted themselves very well with helping the Devon U15s win of 29-12.

There are two more county fixtures to come with, hopefully, more involvement from the Tavistock girls.
