GUNNISLAKE Football Club's second team are looking to sign up players for the new season.
The Duchy League division three team have a new manager, Mark Haydon, a qualified coach who works part-time for Goals soccer centre in Plymouth .
He takes over from Steve Gaggini who wants to concentrate on playing. Joining Mark, as his assistant is Brad Smith, 24, from Plymouth, who has in the last 18 months been coaching in the USA.
Mark, who has also recently set up a Young Gunns training scheme for youngsters in the area, said: 'We have about 20 players signed up for the new season in the Duchy League, but we are looking especially for a forward and also a left sided player but we would welcome players aged 16 plus for a trial. I am very confidant with the mix of new and old faces we can get promotion this season and have a very good cup run.'
The team, which has five players from Gunnislake and three from the recently defunct St Ann's Chapel, and others from the Tavistock and Plymouth area, trains at St George Field, Gunnislake on Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 6.30pm and 9pm.
Anyone who is interested can contact Mark on 0750 414 0168.
