PUPILS at Mary Tavy and Brentor School must have been blown over when they had a visit from the digeridoo man himself — Chris Holland.
Chris, who is a digeridoo performer and storyteller in East Devon was there to give the youngsters a workshop in the art of playing the famous Australian aboriginal musical instrument.
He has played with many different musicians and bands over the years including well known artists such as Jabberwocky, The Joyce Gang, Hawkwind, Baka Beyond, Paul Robertson, Andy Letcher, and Kizmet. He even played didgeridoo to Eric Clapton and some of England's finest sports personalities when England played Australia at cricket for the Ashes in 2009.
The workshop is one of many planned by the school . On February 27 they will be some star gazing with an astronomy workshop while on March 27, children's author Simon James will be a guest at the school all day.
