THE long awaited new children?s play area at Roadford Lake has been officially opened by funders and chairman of charity South West Lakes Trust, Cairns Boston. The new play equipment was funded by the Foundation for Sport and Art, South West Water, the Pennon Environmental Fund, Jacqui Edwards, Ken Marsden and Brian and Sonia Meaden all who are Friends of the Trust. Children from St Giles on the Heath, Lifton and Launceston helped to celebrate the opening and enjoyed playing on the equipment which includes swings for older and younger children, slides, climbing frames and a disabled access swing. Mr Boston welcomed the guests to the opening and thanked all the funders and also the individuals who have attended fund raising events. Afterwards he said ?South West Lakes Trust hope that the new play area will be as well used as the previous one which simply became worn out from constant use. I know it will provide enjoyment for thousands of children in the years to come.?
