POLZEATH Surf Life Saving Club have recently put up a plaque in their new clubhouse (officially opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in June 2000) to acknowledge the financial support towards the funding of the building by the people of Tavistock in commemoration of Tom Balment and Nick Woods.
We estimate that a sum of around £15,000 was donated in one way or another. Both families would like to extend our thanks to the people of Tavistock whose generosity has hopefully helped make Polzeath just that little bit safer.
The club is willing at all times for people to have a look at their new premises.
