MORE than £1,000 was raised by the Yelverton committee of the NSPCC at their annual plant sale and cream tea held at St Paul's Church on May 22.

Organiser Sonja Cheadle, on behalf of the committee, thanked local nurseries, Champernowne, Buckland Cottage Nurseries, Endsleigh Gardens Nursery and Plymouth Garden Centre who all donated plants, 'without which we would not have been able to raise such a magnificent sum of money'.
