CONSTRUCTION of a new car park on land east of Abbey Surgery’s main building could be on the cards if approved by West Devon Borough Council.

A planning application was submitted to the borough council on March 15 by Mr D Newland Abbey Surgery, based on Plymouth Road, and comments by the public and Tavistock Town Council are due by today (Thursday, April 19).

The proposed new parking area is currently grassed, with four trees of varying height and quality.

The determination date by the borough council is due May 10.
