TAVISTOCK Town Council made a decision to object to an application for 250 homes on a site on Plymouth Road at a meeting last week — overriding the recommendation from its planning committee to give a neutral view.

At a meeting of the full council last week, councillors considered the recommendation from the development management and licensing committee to give a neutral view to the plan from Linden Homes but with concerns regarding infrastructure, lack of doctors, dentists and school places, lack of a footpath to neighbouring shops and traffic management on exiting the site among a number of other concerns, these issues will be raised in their response to the borough council.

The town council is asked for its comments as a consultee but the final decision lies with West Devon Borough Council.
