A PLAN which will help to shape the future of Buckland Monachorum Parish underwent its final public consultation meetings on Saturday as the deadline draws near to get comments in.

Saturday saw the last two public consultation meetings on the Buckland Monachorum Parish Neighbourhood Plan. Meetings have now been held at Yelverton, Clearbrook, Buckland Monachorum and Milton Combe, giving more than 100 parish residents a chance to quiz the team on any aspect of the proposed neighbourhood plan.

Parish councillor Ric Cheadle, the plan’s co-ordinator, said: We’ve worked hard to ensure that all those who want to contribute to the plan have had the opportunity to do so. It’s taken 18 months to get this far and we’re really looking forward to having the plan up and running for all the residents of the parish.’

The consultation phase of the plan, which sets out the framework for guiding future development in the parish, ends on March 31 when the plan will then take account of any comments raised before being subjected to a legal review. Residents will then be invited to vote for its adoption.

The plan can be viewed at www.buckland monachorumplan.co.uk where comments can also be posted.
