TORRIDGE District Council has made changes to its planning website and changed its phone number in an effort to make getting information easier.

Areas of the website have been re-designed and there are now dedicated pages on permitted development, pre-application enquires, applying for permission and the planning committee.

Council leader Barry Parsons said: 'Our number one goal is to provide an excellent service for the public. I hope the changes we have implemented will see that realised.

'We have introduced a single phone number on which you can contact the planning department. This is 01237 428711.

'We will still be providing technical planning advice formerly provided by the duty planning officer but by using the central number we hope that all queries will be answered quickly by the correct person within our department.'

Individual officer phone numbers will still be published on application documentation so members of the public will still be able to contact them directly when it relates to a specific application.
