THERE will be an invasion of pirates at Morwellham Quay this wekend. The popular spot is hosting the third annual south west pirate festival from Saturday April 29 to Monday May 1. The pirates will bring swashbuckling action with mock skirmishes, sword fighting, drill displays, workshops and music. There will be up to 60 to 80 re-enactors in two armed camps, pirates and redcoats. The pirates will dock their ship at the quay, intending to steal valuable cargoes, and the local militia will be on hand to repulse them. There is no extra charge for this event, normal admission prices for Morwellham apply.
