OKEHAMPTON entertained Pinhoe in an eventful home tie. The visitors were far quicker to start and put the home side?s defence under enormous pressure in the first 15 minutes.
Good play by the strong centre back pairing of Kimber and Wonnacott helped by the midfield and Herrod-Taylor in goal stemmed Pinhoe attacks.
The Okehampton defence held strong and were beaten only by a deflected shot. The game evened out with some end to end play.
With only five minutes of the half left Okehampton dropped two goals behind when caught short at the back.
After some half-time changes the home side began to dominate. Merttens and King linked well and provided chances for the tireless Rob Clarke up front.
Midway through the second half a nasty collision between two Pinhoe players resulted in a lengthy stoppage. Okehampton could not keep up their previous tempo and the final 20 minutes drifted by with few chances.
