A PARISH Pilgrimage was a great success after keen walkers took to the countryside.
A total of 21 pilgrims and their eight dogs joined the walk, organised by Meeth Church on the last weekend in September, raising a total of £2,500 towards their £35,000 re-decoration project.
The walkers, who started from Hatherleigh Square and then on through the hills and woods, to St Michael's Chagford, were blessed with fine weather as they trekked through the beautiful countryside, carrying banners and singing.
They had a great catering and support team and kind hospitality along the way.
They joined a packed church for a special Michaelmas service on the Sunday evening.
