A TAVISTOCK photographer is busy walking the length of the town in order to capture on camera families in lockdown.

Lauren Dillon, a wedding photographer (LDillon Photography), decided to launch doorstep portraits in order to help put a smile on the faces of families from Tavistock.

She said: ‘It’s really important that we make the most of this time we have.

‘I was sat at home, having wedding after wedding rescheduled and thought I might as well be productive and do something.

‘I’d seen others doing similar things and noticed how no-one in Tavistock had done it yet. We’ve got some gorgeous houses and such lovely people, I just thought I’d try and document this crazy time by photographing the people that make our town what it is.’

Lauren has been walking around the town, neighbourhood by neighbourhood, and documenting the people from the pavement or at least 2m away — all for free!

So far, Lauren has visited a few busy residential streets in Tavistock and plans to cover the whole of the town — and wants people to request where she should go next.

She said: ‘I’ve had enquiries from people asking me to come to Callington, Mary Tavy, Plymouth, Bere Alston — but for now, it’s just Tavistock. I’m doing it all on foot and it’s nice to visit areas I hadn’t been to before.

‘It’s something for the little kids to look forward to — we’ve had the photos fall on some people’s birthday, so they had balloons in their photos — and is a good excuse to put on nice clothes and feel somewhat normal again.’
