A THIRTEEN-year-old girl from Okehampton got a glimpse into the world of modelling when she travelled to Manchester for a photo shoot after being chosen as one of the finalists in a national competition.
Aimee Herve, a keen horse rider who has recently moved to Okehampton, was entered into the competition offering the chance to become a model for school clothes by her mother.
Mum Clarie saw a competition in a magazine run in conjunction with Trutex schoolwear, and sent off a picture of Aimee. She was amazed to receive a phone call to say that Aimee had been chosen as one of the four finalists.
Claire and Aimee travelled up to Manchester for the finals. Claire said Aimee was 'absolutely thrilled' and enjoyed the experience of the photo shoot and being 'treated like stars'.
Although Aimee did not win the competition, as one of the finalists she received a portfolio of the photos taken and a school uniform voucher, which came in very useful as Aimee has only recently left school in Crediton and started at Okehampton College.
Aimee, who has been a keen horse rider for eight years, said she might like to become a model, particularly if she could sport the latest riding gear.
