IN order to prevent the risk of spread of foot and mouth disease during the current outbreak MAFF have said it would be appreciated if farmers could avoid visiting the offices at Clyst St Mary unless absolutely necessary.
This arrangement will apply until further notice.
If farmers require information on the outbreak there is a local helpline available on 01392 266030 which is open between 8am and 6pm seven days a week.
There is also a national helpline on 0845 0504141 which is open between 8am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.
The MAFF website on http://www.maff.gov.uk">www.maff.gov.uk is also being regularly updated with information on the foot and mouth disease situation.
