LEWDOWN Countryside Watch Association has been contacted by a similar organisation in Peru asking for advice.

Colin Harris, group chairman of Countryside Watch, said it came as a complete surprise to hear from Peru.

Mr Harris said: 'The group over there had read about us on the World Wide Website.'

The Lewdown group has worked with four other police forces around the UK, but this overseas contact was the first.

'It is pleasing in that it proves having a website spreads the word,' said Mr Harris.

The organisation in Lima contacted the award-winning association to ask for details of how it was set up and to request security items and UV marking equipment.

Mr Harris is sending the information and a business colleague from Wales is contacting them with leaflets and prices of the security equipment.
