A SMALL group of Kelly College swimmers competed in the Devon County Development Gala held at the new Exe Valley Leisure Centre in Tiverton last weekend.
Many new personal best times were recorded, the biggest of which came from Mel Clarke in the 800 metres freestyle, swimming a whole 73 seconds faster than her previously recorded time.
Mel also enjoyed good swims in the 100m backstroke, 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m and 200m individual medley.
Charlotte Spicer and Rebekah Meachin were also knocking the seconds off in the 50m freestyle and 100m individual medley. Rebekah also took more than seven seconds off her previous 100m backstroke time.
The boys, also keen to record best times, saw Chris Wylie in good form smashing previous times in the 100m and 200m Individual medley, and the 50m and 200m freestyle. Liam Yeo, straight from the IAPS, swam personal best times in the 200m freestyle, and the 100m individual medley.
This was an excellent end to a hard season for these swimmers.
