TWENTY pupils from Mount House School have been awarded certificates for achievements in performing arts.
Two of them, Bertie Jayarajah and Rosie Luther, have been recognised by LAMDA — the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art — for Level 1 Communication in Spoken English. Both pupils were awarded certificates for gaining distictions at grade 3.
LAMDA, founded in 1861, has provided theatre and the world of film and television with many first-class actors and stage managers.
Eighteen pupils have received City of Plymouth Festival dance, music, speech and drama certificates. Of the 18, three, Edward Barlow, Elsa Kent and Laurie Kent, achieved distinction grade, and 13 received merit awards.
