I REFER to your recent correspondence about dogs in public parks. The problem is that dogs are allowed to roam the parks off leads, defecating on the grass and sometimes attacking people.
Dog owners love their pets but not their foul mess, so take them ?for a walk? to deposit their mess on someone else.
When I was bitten by a dog recently the owner said that ?Bobbie had not done that before? with an implication that I must have somehow provoked the incident.
It is the same mentality that can suggest a small area of a park can be fenced for children, not dogs!
Society will never deal with this problem while a majority of people appear to think that dogs have more rights than human beings.
