PUPILS at Horrabridge Primary used all their pedalling power to secure a place at the county finals of the Plymouth Cyclo Cross event.
The eight pupils had to cycle over grass for the event and dismount and carry bikes over low barriers before remounting to continue cycling.
The pupils Jared, Ben, Owen, Jacob, Holly, Lauren, Alana and Amber (pictured), were competing against cyclists from four other schools in time trials initially, in order to rank the cyclists within each school.
The top two cyclists from each school then competed in a timed race to see how many 500m laps they could complete in five minutes. The next two ranked riders from each school then competed against each other until all cyclists had competed. Points were scored for the number of laps completed.
The pupils' pedalling paid off and they were crowned the winners of the event.
