A GROUP of sporty youngsters in Okehampton raised around £500 for charity through a charity bike ride last Saturday.

Players from Okehampton Rugby Club's under 14s took on a sponsored bike ride from Okehampton to Lydford and back to raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust and for the team's planned tour next season.

Players, coaches and parents covered 20 miles in the wind, rain and sunshine.

Initial estimates suggest the team raised in excess of £1,000 to be divided between the two causes.
