OKEHAMPTON'S Peacocks store will remain as it is with all nine staff keeping their jobs despite a takeover by the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group.

WIth some confusion over what it happening with the store, staff contacted the Okehampton Times last week to make it clear to readers that it will continue as Peacocks.

The Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group bought many of the Peacocks stores when the firm went into administration but whilst some have become Edinburgh Woollen Mill shops others have remained as they were.

Store manager Marie Kelly expressed thanks to all the loyal customers for their support over the past few months when the company went through a difficult period.

'We are delighted that Peacocks has been saved by the Edinburgh Woollen Mill and that ultimately customers will see no change,' she said.
