A NEW regular raffle to raise money for the Tavistock Triangle Centre was launched last week by Tavistock mayor Anne Johnson, with a patchwork quilt as first prize. The money raised from the raffle will go towards the Macmillan Cancer Support and Triangle Centre at Tavistock Clinic on Plymouth Road, which was created to support people with cancer, their families and carers locally. The quilt was made by attendees at the Triangle Centre, Nona Pang and Faith Dingle, who have worked to put the raffle together with Debbie Clift, the Macmillan outreach information officer. Debbie said: 'We will be using the proceeds from this raffle to help those affected by cancer in the Tavistock area, at any stage of the illness.' Judith Jolly, Macmillan cancer support's fundraising manager, said: 'We are really grateful for Faith and Nona who have worked so hard to make the raffle for the beautiful quilt happen. 'Macmillan Cancer Support is really grateful for people like them who have such a high level of commitment and energy.' The centre is available to anyone affected by cancer at any stage of their illness and offers an environment to share concerns, ask questions and receive support. The draw tickets are available from the Macmillan Charity Shop in Paddons Row where the quilt will be displayed. The raffle will be drawn on April 4 at the Triangle Centre. The centre is open on Fridays between 10am and 4pm. For more information contact 01822 615935.
