SOUTH West Tourism have joined forces with a well-known firm to run a national competition bringing more visitors to the region.

Callington-based pasty makers Ginsters will be offering prizes including family holidays, short breaks, and 200 attraction passes as part of the 'Win a West Country holiday' competition.

The campaign is the latest in South West Tourism's ongoing £1-million promotional programme to entice visitors to the West Country.

Those entering the competition will need to visit the South West Tourism website, http://www.westcountrynow.com">www.westcountrynow.com then correctly identify seven images associated with the region.

Simon Bradley, South West Tourism's head of operations, said: 'We are delighted with this innovative way of promoting the South West and of tempting visitors to holiday in the region throughout the year.

'The South West is already making a strong fightback following the foot and mouth crisis and this is part of that continued push to keep the region top of the list when people are planning a holiday or short break,' he added.

Larry File, marketing manager of Ginsters said: 'The idea is good for everyone. We have the ideal product range, strong West Country associations and a well-known national brand. This will give the promotion a very high profile.'
