AROUND 125 people crowded into Yelverton's War Memorial Hall for Yelverton Rotary Club's senior citizens' Christmas party on Sunday week.

The party has become very popular, with pensioners attending from Princetown, Horrabridge, Bere Alston, Crapstone, Buckland Monachorum, Walkhampton, Dousland and Yelverton.

Yelverton Rotarians and their wives treated their guests to a traditional Christmas tea, children from Meavy Primary School who sang carols.

The afternoon ended with more singing, accompanied by local church organist Mary Hockin.
