TACT (Tavistock Area Christians Together) will be staging a ‘Party in the Park’ in Tavistock Meadows on Sunday (May 15) in order to mark Pentecost Sunday.

In previous years the churches in Tavistock have gathered together to hold an open air service in Bedford Square on the Sunday morning — this year is going is be different.

Minister at Tavistock Methodist Church Pam?Shranks said: ‘The churches decided to throw open an invitation to everyone in the town to come along and enjoy themselves at the church’s birthday party,’ she said.

Three thousand invitations have been sent out via local schools and churches.

Pentecost Sunday is when Christians the world over celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit.
