THE Oasis Centre needs help ? the drop-in centre in Fore Street, Gunnislake is celebrating its first birthday in June and wants ideas for an exciting community party.
The Calstock Development Trust run centre is a community space and provides information on a range of subjects, free use of computers and internet access.
Now organisers are looking to increase the outreach of the centre by making it more widely known, and celebrations for a first birthday seem to be the ideal starting point.
Co-ordinator Jane Uglow said: ?We operate all sorts of schemes for members of the local community ? we have a learn direct tutor who comes in once a week, job vacancies, advisors and we are opening an additional branch of Liskeard credit union here on June 3 so we?d like to get everyone involved.
?We think our birthday calls for a community celebration and we would like people to come up with ideas of what they would like us to do.?
Currently the Oasis Centre is only open three days a week but organisers are always on the lookout for more volunteers to increase the opening hours.
The centre runs under the remit of offering assistance to all ? private individuals, local charities and small businesses and say if they cannot help, they will know who can.
