A TRADITIONAL end of term party was held by Cllr Mandy Govier, to mark the end of her year as mayor.
Family members, fellow town councillors and members of staff attended the party along with several representatives from the community, including the Rev Michael Brierley from St Eustachius' Church and Wally Lake, president of Tavistock Rotary Club.
The party is personally organised by the outgoing mayor each year, to thank councillor colleagues, staff, various community organisations and family.
Deputy mayor Cllr David Whitcomb thanked Mrs Govier on behalf of the town council, for the hard work, support and contribution she had made to the council in her role as mayor and chairman.
Cllr Govier was presented with a potted Japanese Acer with a plaque from her councillor colleagues, and an album of souvenir photos of her time as mayor from town council staff.
She expressed thanks to everyone from the town council for their support throughout the year and said she was honoured to have undertaken the role of mayor and represent the town council, meeting many wonderful people and being witness to many activities within the town.
