AN Okehampton-based business recently showed its support for one of the biggest arts and crafts events in the South West, when it attended the Contemporary Craft Fair in Bovey Tracy.

The Dartmoor Partnership supported the event along with Dartmoor National Park Authority, to champion Dartmoor as a place to visit and provide support for local businesses.

Thousands of people took advantage of the good weather at the three day event, which showcased 160 of the best arts and crafts talents from across the UK.

Visitors enjoyed workshops, exhibitions, tree climbing, basket weaving, textile making, pot throwing and great food and music.

Dartmoor Partnership's Jess Whistance, said the fair was well supported by local craftsmen and women.

She said: 'This is a great example of local businesses coming together to put on a fantastic event and the Dartmoor Partnership is really proud to be a part of such a successful weekend.

'It is really important that we support events such as this because they really boost local business and attract many people down to Dartmoor.'

The Dartmoor Partnership has expressed thanks to organiser of the Contemporary Craft Fair, Sarah James and to everyone who helped support the event.
