TWO trees in Tavistock's Meadows were attacked by vandals last week, who set them on fire. The attack occurred on Monday and Tuesday ? both trees were completely destroyed by the flames. Tavistock's fire chief Tim Smith appealed to members of the public to alert the fire brigade in the first instance if they see a fire. ?Several people put calls in through the police or went into the station, which delayed us getting there,? said Mr Smith.
